BAY AREA REGION
Our Mission
Comfort for Recovery operates as a clothing drive & recycling service, donating old and used clothes from the community to psychiatric hospitals around the Bay Area to ensure patients have a better experience recovering with physical comfort. Clothing will be acquired through two main outlets: drop-off and pick-up donations, both being free of any charges. We understand that people may have clothing ready to donate, yet cannot due to a lack of time or energy, and as a result, we aim to communicate and coordinate with our donors to make the process quick and comfortable. After donations are acquired, they are filtered to categorize clothing that meets the restrictions & safety concerns, or any excess pieces of clothing that will be sent to the Cancer Society Discovery shops in Oakland instead, ensuring all clothing donated will not be lost or put into the landfill.

Updates on opportunities to donate clothing
We believe that physical comfort is a fundamental pillar of mental recovery. By providing high-quality, therapeutic clothing, we create a sanctuary of dignity and hope for patients in psychiatric hospitals, fostering an environment where healing can truly flourish.
To donate, simply get in touch with us, and we can arrange a time and place to meet, whether that be at your home, one of our pop-ups, walk-arounds, or another location that you find helpful. We want to make the handoff as seamless and easy as possible!
How to Help Us
Join our mission to bring physical comfort and hope to patients in psychiatric hospitals in the Bay Area.
01
Get in Contact
We host different opportunities to connect with potential donors, such as walk-arounds, pop-ups, and scheduled pick-ups.
02
Donate Your Clothing
We accept comfortable, soft, loose-fitting clothing free of drawstrings or buckles. Please ensure all items are in suitable condition for our patients. If we cannot donate them to psychiatric patients, they will go to the cancer society.
03
